Esta es una pequeña lista de algunos pantanos recomendados por los propios madrileños: El Atazar, La Jarosa, Santillana, San Juan, Valmayor o El Vellón. - Navacerrada: en la Sierra de Guadarrama, a 1.200 metros de altura y a una hora de Madrid en coche o autobús, es otro atractivo que no puedes dejar pasar. Además de disfrutar de un entorno natural bellísimo y a menudo nevado en invierno, cada domingo se celebra en la Avenida Madrid un célebre mercadillo de antigëdades.
- Alcalá de Henares y El Escorial: Ambos lugares fueron declarados Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la UNESCO. Alcalá posee un rico patrimonio monumental que se concentra en su casco histórico fundamentalmente: iglesias, conventos y dependencias universitarias nos acercan a la vida castellana durante el Siglo de Oro español.
San Lorenzo del Escorial, por su parte, se ubica en la Sierra de Guadarrama.
